Bayview police officer kills a man!

Today a man suspected of robbery was shot by a Bayview police officer on Kinnickinnic Ave (one block south of Broad Vocabulary). Many details still unknown.

At approximately 10am (central time) a man was shot and killed by a Bayview police officer. Many details are still unknown. The Journal Sentinel reports that the officer shot the man during an attempted robbery. While Bethany Vannest, Broad Vocabulary's store manager, did not witness the murder she was able to describe the periphery of the scene after the stand-off/shooting occurred. According to Vannest (about 1pm), "There's tons of cops and KK is completely blocked off between Lincoln and Ward. I went outside and asked a cop what was going on and he said everything's okay now (whatever that means) but that he can't tell me anything yet...it looks like maybe the person was shot on the other side of the street at the corner or KK and Ward because lots of cops are kind of in the area of the music store. I still don't know what store was being robbed”. Around 2pm Vannest stated that, “all the cops are gone and the street is open again. I can't believe that I didn't even hear gunshots or anything…”. The Journal Sentinel has since released many details regarding the attempted robbery and shooting but Vannest/Broad Vocabulary have not spoken to enough eyewitnesses to be able confirm the JS's account. We will attempt to find out more information from friends, neighbors and businesses in Bayview area and report back to Indymedia.
